Although it may be originated from an ancient roman feast, and associated with Roman Catholic feast day on February 14th to honor two roman martyrs, both of these were called st.valentine. It is traditionally a day on which lovers express their love for each by presenting flowers offering confectionery and sending greeting cards.
According to one legend, valentine actually sent the first valentine greeting himself when he was in prison and it is believed that valentine fell in love with a young girl, who was his jailors daughter, who visited him during his confinement, before his death, it is said that he wrote a letter, which he signed from your valentine an expression that is still in use today.
Valentine day is a day to celebrate, it is not a day to fight on the basis culture, it is not only for the lovers it is been celebrated by all who loves each other with respect to their relationship.
Today in Indian society the day has been taken as the day of fight in the name culture. Some of the popular personality says it is a western culture; let us respect that culture because it is a day for love of human kind. We are using all western facilities, which is been left by British people but when it comes to love it is said that it is not our culture. Let us grow up, understand the day for it has been celebrated. Let us love each other respect each then for sure will come to know the value of the day.
Happy valentine day.
